The Ohio State University is in the midst of a renovation project of the 95-year old Pomerene Hall. Columbus Business First checked in with the project to document what it will become. The old women’s student union is set to transform into a high-tech big data hub, while maintaining it’s historic character. It will have auditorium style lecture halls and will serve as a meeting place for students, faculty and staff.
“We are not intending for a whole bunch of people to move into that building.” “Most of it is not permanent office space; most of it is convening space,” David Mongeau, director of Ohio State’s Translational Data Analytics Institute told the publication.
Renovation of Pomerene Hall is part of the university’s Framework 2.0 plan, which is a planning vision and collaborative update to the Framework 1.0 plan.
