Columbus Business First recapped Ohio State's biggest construction projects over the last decade. As the outlet cites, from 2010 to 2019, the school's six largest construction projects alone totaled nearly $1.9 billion.
One big-ticket item helped the school reach that lofty spending total. The largest project of the decade – the $1.1 billion Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute, more commonly known as The James – carried three times the price tag of its nearest peer.
"This was an enormous project by any measure," said Mark Conselyea, OSU's associate vice president of facilities operations and development said of the hospital project.
