Keith Myers will retire on June 30 from his role as The Ohio State University’s vice president of Planning, Architecture and Real Estate (PARE). He will be replaced by Amanda Hoffsis, who currently serves as PARE’s associate vice president and as president of Campus Partners.
Myers joined Ohio State in 2013, after a 30-year career in private practice. A graduate of Ohio State, he spent nearly 10 years guiding the university’s physical footprint, planning and design decisions and will return in September to serve on the university’s Design Review Board.
“Keith Myers will leave an indelible mark on the Columbus campus and was instrumental in planning projects like Mirror Lake, the University Square at 15+HIGH and the Innovation District,” said Jay Kasey, Ohio State’s senior vice president in the Office of Administration and Planning. “His priority was always the legacy of Ohio State, ensuring all projects have a positive impact on future generations of Buckeyes.”
While involved in many key projects at Ohio State, Myers said his proudest achievement is the restoration of Mirror Lake back to its more natural state in 2018.
In 1984, Myers founded the landscape architecture and urban planning firm MKSK and led its successful growth into the largest landscape architecture and planning firm in the Midwest. His work included leading planning and design projects worldwide. In central Ohio, some of his most notable projects include leading the master planning of the Nationwide Arena District and the design of the Scioto Mile and the Scioto Greenways.
“Any accomplishments I have had at Ohio State and throughout my career have truly been a collaboration, and the product of many great colleagues and partners,” said Myers. “I look forward to continuing to support the growth and evolution of our campus through continued work on the Design Review Board and have full confidence in Amanda Hoffsis leading planning efforts for years to come.”
Hoffsis will be appointed PARE’s vice president, effective July 1, and is grateful for Myers’ mentorship the past 10 years.
“Keith has reset the way Ohio State sees itself and its projects,” Hoffsis said. “I intend to carry out his vision of campus as an asset to our community, and I look forward to leading our strong Planning, Architecture and Real Estate team.”
Hoffsis played a pivotal role in the land acquisitions and development of University Square at 15+HIGH and the development of the Upper Arlington Outpatient Care facility. In her associate vice president role at Ohio State, she oversaw all real estate activities for the university, including strategic sales and acquisitions, leasing, entitlements, property management and strategic real estate planning. Her previous roles with the university included management of the One University Framework Plan, capital planning, and space and facility planning.
Hoffsis has worked at Ohio State for 16 years and has served in a dual capacity with Campus Partners since 2013. Before joining the university, she worked for an international consulting firm developing facility master plans for large K-12 schools districts. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Ohio State and has a Master of Business Administration from Colorado Technical University.
