In the News: Ohio State to spend $1.2M on 'Framework 3.0' campus development plan

Columbus Business First shared news on February 9 that Ohio State trustees this week were voting to approve spending $1.2 million to develop an update to the "Framework 2.0" master plan approved back in 2017, which resulted in the development of the west campus Innovation District and the University Square project at 15th and High.

In the News: Ohio State Moving Forward with $1.79 Billion Hospital Tower

The Columbus Dispatch shared news this week of plans for a new inpatient hospital - one set to be The Ohio State University's largest project in history.

As reported by the newspaper, Ohio State is seeking approval from the board of trustees for the construction of a $1.79 billion, 1.9 million-square-foot hospital tower. Pending trustees’ approval, the facility is expected to open in early 2026.

As reported by the outlet, plans for 15+HIGH were first announced in 2015, and the first major new building in the district – the Wellington that holds apartments and a Target – was completed last summer.

The Lantern recently wrote about an exciting new project -- a $155.9 million Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center.

According to the outlet, the construction of the center will include renovations to Hamilton Hall, located at the corner of 10th and Neil avenues, as well as construction of a new wing extending onto 10th Avenue. The new wing will form an enclosure to the space and create a quadrangle for student use as well as special events.

In the News: Ty Tucker Tennis Center

Columbus Business First provided an update on the progress of Ohio State's Ty Tucker Tennis Center. The project sought construction approval at this week's Board of Trustees meeting.

The outlet reported that construction will last from October 2019 to November 2020, and the center will include around 450 spectator seats and six indoor and outdoor tennis courts for the men’s and women’s teams.

In the News: New images offer closer look at Ohio State’s planned Arts District

The Ohio State University Board of Trustees will see the newest vision of the university’s planned Arts District at a meeting of the Master Planning and Facilities Committee today.

New renderings of the Arts District highlight a renovated Weigel Hall, home of the School of Music, and a new building for the Department of Theatre featuring new performance spaces, modern recital halls and high-tech classrooms. The presentation comes as the university seeks approval to increase professional services and enter into construction contracts for the district.
